Christ Expressed as You and as Us

YOU CAN BE THE SON/DAUGHTER ACCORDING TO YOUR DESIGN

‘When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory’ Col 3.4 NIV.

‘Realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me’ Gal 2.20 NIV.

‘I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly’ Gal 2.21 NIV.

OUR DIGS

So what are we living in? Is it our way or His living way.

We all belong. We can belong to the Body of Christ in various states of being from robust good health to invalids and cripples. Jesus has in mind that we do better than ‘belong’. Paul asserts that we can belong as sons of God or children of
the slave woman. Plainly we can be members of the Body minus our inheritance – which is to live as robbed individuals and a robbed church.

Our inheritance is our lived experience in the new covenant.
Naked of our inheritance is our status when we live from the old covenant. We can belong to this body of death while positionally belonging to the Body of His life. Spirit and truth is our entire being resting and flourishing in the fact of Christ our life.

A life in the law perverts every aspect of our salvation.

VICARIOUS HUMANITY OF CHRIST

When we talk of Christ our life we are signalling that Christ is every possible aspect of our person in relating to God. In this ‘lens’ our life consists of growing into this reality to experience the fullness of it in everyday living – His life
come in our flesh. Life in the Spirit is less to do with spiritual gifts/fruits and more the replication of His Person as our person.

“
Our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ, has given His repentance for us to take part in. He has given us His t-shirt, which is way too big for us because it is perfect in every way. When we first try it on we’re swallowed up by the enormity of it. As we grow older we grow into it more each day. Much like this, Jesus Christ’s perfect vicarious repentance is given for us to take part in. As we grow in our own ability to grasp the vicarious gift of Christ’s life, we grow into it. As we discover just how finished the work is, we experience it.” (1)

We can live advancing into our sonship in what Paul calls running our race. Then again we can run round and round in circles losing our eyesight, shrinking in our being and thinking we are sharing light when we are only sharing a half-life.
