What is the Grand Truth of the Ages? It is the incarnation. Some extol the fact that the Son of God came as a human being to be God with us - and so they should. But more importantly this is the inception of the incarnation and not the end result. The fruit of Christ’s teaching, the cross, the resurrection and outpouring of the Spirit, is the incarnation as it applies to you and to the church. Because of Jesus the trinity dwells in you. Incarnation is not just about Jesus coming among humans. Incarnation is about God in His fullness coming to live in people like you.
‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14,20.
The issue today is does what we call the body of Christ REALISE? Do we live in the union with God that is our inheritance? All belong. But not all possess.
There’s a Greek word that goes to the essence of ‘incarnation.’ It’s Perichoresis. Get a grip on it. Understand and embrace it because the dynamic of Perichoresis is new creation life and the core of Kingdom advance. Christians need to understand and know that law, morality and works of charity are not the essence of the Kingdom. Christ in you is the essence. This is the root and stem of every branch and fruit.
Perichoresis is the stuff of Kingdom life. God interwoven into our being is the root of all good works, kindnesses, grace and the life of the Spirit. In God’s scheme we are the fruit of what we are - sons in-dwealt by the fullness of God. Here’s the thing. Live in the union of being that is yours and all you touch will receive a flow of spirit and life that comes from the trinity and out into the world through you.
So what does Perichoresis mean? Here’s an apt quote from the Trinity in You, website.
'Genuine acceptance removes fear and hiding and creates freedom to know and be known. In this freedom arises a fellowship and sharing so honest and open and real that persons involved dwell in one another. There is union without loss of individual identity. When one weeps, the other tastes salt. It is only in the Triune relationship of Father, Son and Spirit that personal relationship of this order exists, and the early church used the word ‘perichoresis’ to describe it. The good news is that we have been included in this relationship and it is to be played out fully in each of us and in all creation. 'Source.
So this is it. Not the law or a performance regime. Not the knowledge of good and evil in new clothes. But Christ in you and more - the fullness of the God-head alive in your being. Sharing themselves and their nature with you so that you are filled with their spirit and life.
The subtle counterfeit to this is religion. Every form of religion is based on separation - a false separation that denies the facts of your Kingdom life: You and our Father are one. Live in this and you will be a son, a daughter in spirit and in truth. You will get to like yourself and the life that flows from you with very little effort - other than the fact that you just turn up!
We are all sons objectively. We need to be sons subjectively by having the mind of Christ. Paul spoke of this using the analogy of the slave woman and the free woman. Spirit and life is our when we believe what God believes.
