TOWARDS A HEALED LIFE

Healing and wholeness is ours in Jesus Christ. Jesus healed limbs and bodies because it He who heals our life. In Separation from God we are unhealed in our thinking and our being. In Christ we have union with God. With Christ as our life we become who we are as individuals and persons in community – which is why we need people around who live in Christ rather than in the externalities of religion.

JOY OF LIVING

The purpose of participating in the divine nature is to become the persons we are – the persons seen by God before our creation and the persons we are becoming incarnated with Christ. Myk Habets writes, “
The goal of theosis is not to become ‘God’ or even, technically speaking, to become ‘gods’. It is not the process of transcending the confines of human nature but the process and means by which the human can achieve true personhood. Theosis does not do away with our creatureliness; it fulfils it.” This is to say that when Christ is our life we become truly human. This is because the Spirit of the Son of Man manifest as Bill, Joan, Bob and Elaine.

SONSHIP

In the law we have an apparent solidity and the appearance of substance. But this is only the substance of a straw man. In the law, the real self is a vapour and the new man is yet to appear. When Christ is your life by the Spirit, you are you and not before that time. Your growth into sonship is your passage from glory to glory. You glorify Christ by being you.

Jesus declares Himself the way, the truth and the life. Jesus is the way to know God, to be in fellowship with God, to know ourselves and to be ourselves. In Jesus we possess the way to know God, to be ourselves and multiply life as sons/daughters of the Kingdom.

SEPARATION IS UNDONE

In the old self and old covenant we are locked into the old self, where our identity is in things and achievements and not in ourselves. In the new covenant we and Father are one and we are the new self. This is the real new-birth as opposed to the doctrinal, notional, positional rebirth of religion that leaves us in Adam and denies our real self.

BI-SECTED SELF

Should we be attached to the law we will live in a needless degree of separation. Separated from God in our mindset we will be separate from ourselves and separate from others. Old covenant Believers deny themselves the communion with each other and the intimate fellowship that is the experience of those who have moved from separation to union with God with Jesus as their life.

In Jesus we are not only declared not guilty. We are declared not separated, not dead in our spirit and soul and not blind to spirit and life to the full. We and Father are one – which means that we and unlimited life are one.

GLASS FULL OR HALF EMPTY

We can live in this ultra-life of incarnated presence or continue as dead men talking. Here Jesus can grace us with drops of living water but we have defined ourselves out of the rivers of living water that our inheritance.

WHERE IS LIFE?

In rebellion and in religion any life we think we have added to ourselves is partial and fractured. In the law we are in a caricature of holiness and a parody of life to the full. Life to the utmost is not found in things, behaviours, rites or observances. Life is ours to the full
when Jesus is us. When is Jesus us? When we agree with Him that He is our life. When does this happen? When we agree with Him that the trinity is woven into our being and believe in our minds that we are one with God.

BELIEVING

Even if something is a fact it is not yours until you believe it.

‘When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory’ Col 3.4 NIV. It happened at His resurrection and it happens each day as you agree that you have already been drawn into His life and fellowship with our Father.

Baxter Kruger writes, “
What emerged on the other side of the cross is a man–the divine son incarnate, to be sure, but the son as man–a human being from the world lost in Adam’s mythology, who knows and loves the Father; a man from the belly of alienation who rose in face-to-face fellowship with God, the Father almighty; a man from Adam’s seed in whom no trace of the Fall can be found; a man who lives forever in real fellowship with the Father in the baptism of the Spirit.” (1) This man is you.

You are in Him and He is in you.
